NEW Features:

A long awaited feature for the QT-6000 is now available in version 7.2

QT-6000 / Edit Keyboard Features

Edit Keyboard Window

The buttons found at the left pane of the window are representations of QT6000’s buttons. Those buttons can be assigned to PLU, Department, Sub-department,Group and/or Free function.

Next click over QT6000’s button, action setting: This tabs allow to select what
kind of action is to be made when you click on any button located at the left pane of the keyboard window. When the “Links” tab is active, clicking on a QT6000’s button will perform a link action setting. When the “Shape/Color” tab is active, clicking on a QT6000’s button will perform a shape/color action setting. When the “Free function” tab is active, clicking on a QT6000’s button will perform a free function action setting.

Dragging the mouse over the buttons located at the left pane of the window will update the “Information label” located on the right pane of the window. This label will give you information about the kind of object linked to the button (PLU, department, sub-department, etc.), the description and the record number to which the object belongs too. For example: BBQ CHICKEN MELT (PLU: 0010), means that the button is assigned to the PLU record 10. Another example: SALAD (Free function: 0064), means that the button is assigned to the Free
function 64 –Menu Shift- and is set to the description SALAD.

All buttons located at the left pane can be assigned to any PLU, Department,
Sub-department, Group and/or Free function that the ECR supports. Additionally, shapes and colors (click on the “Shape/Color” tab) can be set for the ECR to display the button, as you look them on this window.

The ECR’s shifts (total of 15), are represented as tabs located along the middle of the window and labeled sideways from Shift 1 to Shift 15. Click on the tab to
display the buttons already assigned to the corresponding shift at the ECR.

Click on a QT6000’s button at the left to open a look-up window where you will select the corresponding Link to PLU, PullDown, Department or Subdepartment, based on the setting you set on the “Options” radio buttons found on this tab.

If "Edit PLU record" is set to the radio button options, the "PLU Edition" window
will open and the currently assigned PLU record will be displayed for you to edit
its name, price, etc. For the "Edit PLU record" to work accordingly, the button should have been previously assigned to a PLU, otherwise, you will be warned by the program. Two function buttons below, will override the above functions.
Status: To edit a free function button status, click on the "Status" button first, it will be pushed down and remain like that, until you click the free function button. If you click other object, apart from a free function button, the "Status" button will return to its raized normal condition.

Release button: The same functionality of the status button is carried for the
"Release button". Click on it to activate the function, the button will be pushed down and remain like that until you click on a programmed button. This function will set the button's programming to all status zero, and will not be shown at the ECR.

The Release button and Status buttons, will be active for a single transaction,
once you finish with a button, they will return to their normal raised condition and will be deactivated until you push them again. In other words, if you wish to
release two or more buttons at the left, you will need to click on the "Release button" before releasing each button.

Click on a button at the left to assign it any of the button types: Little square,
Horizontal rectangle, Vertical rectangle, Quad square, Little square, Horizontal
elipse, Vertical elipse or Quad circle, and the color shown at the preview section
found at this tab.

To assign a color to the
previewed button, click on
the Color selection button,
this will open a color
selection grid.

Click on the button assign to the color selection desired. The preview button will
change accordingly.

When you click on a QT6000’s button representation located at the left pane, that button will be assigned with the shape and color set with this tool.

The functions tab refers to the ECR’s free functions. There is a long list of
functions displayed. Select the desired function first then click on the QT6000’s
button to be assigned. Upon clicking on the button, a window to change the
description shown on the button, and the status and price programming will pop
up. After setting this values, click on the save (F-10) button to make changes
permanent to the button. Clicking on the ESCape button will abort the transaction.

Before clicking on an ECR button at the left, double check what you have set at
the tools tabbed notebook at the right.

If, for any reason you click the wrong button, you can abort any changes by clicking on the “Cancel/ESCape” button found at the “Look-Up” window that opens afterwards. This applies to any function selected from the “Link” tab. There are some things that can’t be undone: the shape and color settings and the “Release button” function. So, be careful when releasing buttons and/or setting big shapes. A big shape will cover other buttons located beneath it, consequently, this will potentially overwrite buttons that where previously programmed and you may not want to loose.

If this ever happens, the only way to undo this mistake is by clicking on the
“Cancel” button on the lower right corner. Be aware that this function will close
the window and will disregard any changes you may have done to your work
after the last save (F-10). Advice: Keep saving regularly.
